A Walk Through My Career
The Early Years (2006-2014)

During this time, I…

It was around this time, I knew I wanted to return to my roots in public health.
I decided to pursue a master’s in public health from the University of Tennessee. I thrived during my graduate school experience and even served as the President of our Public Health Graduate Student Association (PHGSA). I also volunteered with Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee on an HIV prevention grant funded by the CDC, conducted HIV and HCV screening and education with Helen Ross McNabb, and completed an internship with Parents as Teachers Knox County, where I later served on their Advisory Board.
A Blossoming Public Health Career
After completing my MPH at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I was offered a position as Director of Community Programs at Susan G. Komen East Tennessee in 2017, where I stayed until 2019.
I then served a brief stint as part of the external evaluation team for a SAMHSA-funded intervention for people who were exiting incarceration and had co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder diagnoses (2020). Here, I…
